Our November Friendsgiving features two speakers on immigration and asylum in our area:
Fr. Corey Brost, of our Community Partner Viator House of Hospitality
Sr. Kathlyn Mulcahey of Bethany House of Hospitality
Located in Chicago since 2017 Bethany House has offered home to 135 women with 52 children, from 29 different countries of origin. Since 2017 Viator House has offered home to more than 90 young men seeking asylum from 22 countries. Viator House also engages in education about the U.S. asylum system and advocates for changes to make that system more humane, while supporting the development of similar hospitality houses across the country.
Seasonal appetizers and desserts will be provided.
Tuesday Talk is held the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday every other month providing members an opportunity to come together sharing over timely topics and to come away with one or more impactful actions.
Anyone wishing to donate, these items are always appreciated:
For Viator House - Aldi gift cards ($25 suggested) .
For Bethany House - Full Size toiletries (lotion, body oil, African hair care products), Feminine Pads (not tampons), Baby Care (baby oil, lotion, shampoo, child toothpaste / toothbrush).
