Reclaiming My Humanity - A Reflective Journey to Finding Purpose
Elevating Voices Speaker Series
Come join us for an evening of purpose with Dr. Michael Allen, a recent Principal of the Year and Crain Chicago's Business Notable Black Leader and Executive, as he coaches us as parents, caregivers, and a community to cultivate our own humanity so we can better cherish both ourselves and others.
Dr. Allen is a skilled mentor and coach of thousands of school and district leaders and a contributor to the Inclusive Education Act bringing pre-enslavement Black History to all Illinois students. On his journey, he recognized the huge need for reading materials that depict young Black boys in a manner that is authentic, relatable, and life affirming. He co-authored the best-selling children's book Brotherly Love with his brother. His continuing story is one of tireless advocacy to end policies that hold down students of color.
You are invited to come and be engaged in a workshop conversation as he reflects on his journey finding purpose in reclaiming his humanity. Come prepared to participate!
Adults and teens may register with up to one guest. Registration is limited to 80 people. Once that limit is reached, you will be able to join the waitlist.
