Voting is our core reason to celebrate here at LWVAH-MP-BG, and we aim to help people correct an easily fixed voter registration problem. National Voter Registration Day is the nation's biggest nonpartisan civic holiday dedicated to getting every eligible American registered to vote for their next election.

  • Are you registered to vote?
  • Have you moved since the last time you voted?
  • Did your name change from marriage or something else?
  • Do you want to help a loved one, neighbor, or friend register to vote in a comfortable setting before the election cycle? Maybe your soon-to-be 18 yr old?
  • In the era of deepfakes and misinformation, do you just plain want to know how to access factual voting information from reliable, publicly transparent, nonpartisan sources?

All this and more are reasons to stop by at one of our events that day to speak with a Cook County trained deputy voter registrar of our LWVAH-MP-BG. It doesn't take long, just few minutes!

Are you a League member who wants to be a part of our Voter Registration team  and want to help volunteer? We would appreciate some helping hands and greeters (no training needed). Contact Margaret at voterservices3@lwvah.org to connect about volunteering.

National Voter Registration Day

seeks to increase civic participation by encouraging eligible Americans to register to vote and turn out to vote every single year.
As a non-partisan civic holiday, National Voter Registration Day counts on thousands of partners and volunteers across the political spectrum. Started in 2012, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering eligible Americans to exercise one of their most basic rights – the right to vote.

Americans can register at hundreds of events across the nation and online at NationalVoterRegistrationDay.org. Supporters can also participate virtually in National Voter Registration Day activities on September 19th by following #NationalVoterRegistrationDay and #VoteReady on social media and encouraging their friends and family to get registered.
